Lesson 7 - Backlink Techniques that Drive Traffic like nobody's business

Wow, that is a bold title, I better be able to deliver on the above statement! There are at least 17 different ways off the top of my head to get back links RIGHT NOW that will drive traffic within 24 hours of implementation. There are allot more ways than just 17 ways but sitting here writing this I can think of about 17 quickly. However, as usual I am only going to share about 3 ways. You will have to wait for the rest of the techniques, they will come, I promise.

However, before you can begin the backlink process you must prepare your pages for those links.

Step 1- Preparing your web pages for back links in 7 days.

Day 1: For today's action plan, you will be researching and finding the best keywords for use with each of your newly created, and or existing web site pages for the beginning of your backlink strategy. For example, if you have 10 pages that make up your entire web site that you want to advertise, you will need to carefully examine what the main topic is on each of those 10 pages and find keywords that relate to that specific topic. Now, say that you have a page within your web site that pertains strictly to the "lemon laws". Then you would search for popular keywords for the lemon law. So on and so forth. Follow this plan for every single page of your web site to make them more search engine friendly. Make a full list of each of your web site's related keywords and save it as a plain text file for easier inclusion of these keywords into your site pages tomorrow. Day 2: Begin today by optimizing your web pages for the search engines. Today, your main focus will be adding all those juicy keywords into the content of your web pages. This can be a tedious task. You must restructure your article text to accommodate your keywords but still maintaining the flow of information. You want your content easily read by your site visitors. Once you have altered your site content to fit your new keywords it's time to start appending your Meta Tags to match. This is what your meta tags will look like. You need to edit your Title Tag, Content Tag and Keyword Tag appropriately for maximum SEO Results.

Day 3: The action plan for today will be to upload all your newly formatted, search engine friendly pages to your website. To do this, you will most definitely need an FTP uploading utility. Day 4: Today, you will be finding all the best web sites that correlate well with your own and submitting a “link back” request to them. To do this, you will need to send off email requests for a link exchange with the web sites you would want to include a link to their web site from yours. You could do this by using these site links as an “Additional Resources” section, or a “Sites Of Interest” link section. To automate the entire process of link exchange, I’d recommend using a service like Link Metro to save yourself headache and time. Its important to remember that using link farms (a site that guarantees hundreds and thousands of links back to your site) is wrong, unethical and bad for your site. You want organic SEO links, sites that you contact and you both exchanged links. Adding only a few a day will help very much.

Day 5: On today's menu, you will be processing all those positive responses you received back from other web masters and creating the links off to their sites from your own. You can create a separate section for those additional site links as either a “Resource” or “Sites of Interest” within your main page. The reason you should do this in this manner is because search engines automatically “spider” or search for web sites to add to their database index. The sites that have more links going to and from it receive a higher ranking. This makes much more sense than spending hours trying to submit your site manually to these indexes and waiting for the search engine to go off and spider your page to see what's there. Day 6: Today's action plan involves searching out site link directory systems like (This Site) and submitting your site URL links to each of your site's pages within them.

Day 7: For the final day of this week, you should begin submitting your site pages to the site link directories you searched out yesterday.

That ends the overview for prepping your site for backlinks. Now lets talk some real strategy.

Strategy 1

At this point I am going to assume you know what your target market is. Now for the first Backlink Strategy you are going to go find communities that do what you do. For example, if you are a graphics designer, you are going to go find every graphics design FORUM and Community website that you can and sign up an account. Once you have an account setup you can now start participating in the different categories/topics within the forums. There is some immediate advantages to this.

First, you can create a custom HTML signature within your account. Within this signature you can provide a "very brief one liner tag line" about your company with a back link. Don't put something salesy, just keep it simple, for example: Professional Graphic Design Services" and then you can include a forum backlink to your website. Every time you post something new, or respond to someone else's post, thousands of members are going to see your unique signature and potentially click to your site.

An additional benefit to this is that those forum topics are indexed within the search engines. Your responses or new posts will provide almost overnight backlinks to your site. Well when you are posting on a high ranking site, you just got some Organic SEO Ranking Power linking back to you.

Strategy 2

Now its time to search out some blogs talking about your industry. This is a prime example and opportunity to get blogging backlinks. Most blogs allow for backlinks to your website from your blog post response. Remember, do not make sales pitches in your responses. Talk about industry news, respond to posts and leave your name and website address. If you are creative you will figure out how to respond in such a way that you are not selling what you do but you are able to drive people to your website through the posts. That is additional benefit on top of the backlinks.

As I said, this is just a couple of the tricks you can use to get immediate backlinks. Backlinks are very important to an overall SEO Strategy because backlinks are what raise your page rank. Having High Quality Websites Linking back to your site tells the search engines that your site can be trusted because those sites trust you enough to link to you.
