How to Drive Traffic to your Website using StumbleUpon

Part 1 - For those that have websites or blogs, a website without traffic is like a coke stand in the dessert that know one knows about (it's useless). The goal to online success is lots of targeted traffic, and when that traffic comes a good conversion rate will follow. Bottom line, you can't convert customers to sales unless you have traffic. You can hire a SEO Firm but even with that, there is no reason why you can't do a lot of the same SEO Strategies that those companies use yourself. One of those tools is Stumbleupon.com.

So what is Stumbleupon.com? Stumbleupon is a pretty cool resources with a huge community behind it; it’s an online site that delivers websites (of interest) to your browser. The cool thing is it only sends sites to you that you are interested in. We will get to how this can help your site in just a second. The first thing you need to do is to sign up for a free SutmbleUpon account, and then set up your profile by selecting the topics that you are interested in. The next step is to download the Stumbleupon tool bar for your browser.

Once you have the StumbleUpon browser plugin installed and you stumble (hit the stumble button) a website in the category that you chose during setup will appear. Each time you hit the stumble button a website that you like will appear. Once you find a site you like you can press the "Like it" button and write a review about that website. Do you see where I’m going with this? That’s right, open up YOUR website and press the "Like it" button and write your own review.

Every time I stumble a new post on my blog I get between 100 and 142 hits within the hour. My monthly Stumble Hits range from 600-1800 hits a month to the page that I wrote a review on. Great thing is that the people seeing my site are the people that are interested in my topics because they preselected the category in their profile.

OK, now you know what StumbleUpon is and how it works. Maybe you even went to your own website and wrote a review. Is that all that you can do with StumbleUpon to drive traffic to your website? The Answer is NO!
